There are some interesting articles showing up on the web about Lucid’s new chip which is able to combine the power of two video cards. This technology is similar to what Nvidia and AMD/ATI already do with there SLI and Crossfire technologies. However there is one important difference. The Lucid technology allows different models of video cards to work together. You are not required to have the same model of video card like you are with vendor specific technology like SLI and Crossfire. Apparently you are able to mix brands of video cards as well. This technology will be very interesting to gamers if it works well and is able to offer good performance.
MSI is releasing a motherboard in approximately 30 days that will have this technology built into it. It is called the MSI Big Bang P55 motherboard.
