Iowa Hawkeyes
The Iowa Hawkeyes have moved up from #11 to #7 this week. While it’s great to see them that high, I still feel the national media is disrespecting them. USC who already has a loss and struggled with Notre Dame on Saturday sits at #4 which is a complete travesty. #5 is occupied by Cincinnati who has literally beat a bunch of nobodies, unless you count South Florida (I don’t) and they play in one of the worst conferences in Division 1. Boise State is still hanging in there at #6, but their only notable victory was against Oregon and have had a cupcake schedule ever since and will throughout the year.
I really see the Hawks being the #4 team right now. It will be a miracle if they go undefeated with the conference road schedule they have, but it will be the most deserved Big Ten title in recent memory if they succeed. They really need Texas to drop a game so they can sneak into the National Championship game, which looks very possible as Texas has looked shaky as of late. I really hope it all falls into place for them and they don’t end up being the Auburn of a few years back when they went undefeated and didn’t play for a title. Go Hawks! and please don’t overlook Indiana or drop a heart breaker.
