The #1 college basketball recruit in all the land has signed a letter of intent with North Carolina today at around 3:15PM CST. The Ames, Iowa native was said to be choosing between Oklahoma, Kansas, UCLA, Iowa State, Duke and North Carolina.

With the injury to QB Ricky Stanzi, it seems like most people have given up all hope on the Iowa football team. I say don’t panic just yet.
The Labor Department announced today that the jobless rate has risen to over 10%. That is the highest rate since April of 1983. Also, economists are saying the unemployment rate would be 17.5% if those who have settled for part-time jobs and those who have exhausted their benefits were to be accounted for.

The Iowa Hawkeyes have moved up from #11 to #7 this week. While it’s great to see them that high, I still feel the national media is disrespecting them. USC who already has a loss and struggled with Notre Dame on Saturday sits at #4 which is a complete travesty. #5 is occupied by Cincinnati who has literally beat a bunch of nobodies, unless you count South Florida.
